I checked out that French/german site and their ss 38.5L pot is not compatible with a gas burner. Which is a shame as they were all set to give me a special price including shipping of 75 yoyos.

Ill keep looking[/quote:2xy5371a]

Hmm, I wonder what "not compatible" means.

After all, remember at school science class the demo of how you could boil water in a piece of paper folded up to make a tray?. The water wets the paper so it can't burn !! Just don't let it boil dry

Thin stainless steel is a little bit more flame resistant than paper!!

You can always stand it on a heat diffuser (like we did with the 6" square gauze on the bunsen burner)

A square of ss mesh or an off cut of steel or alumininium plate would do it

Cheers

Have added stock pots to website. Just go to the all grain equipment section and you will find them there.

Sweet conicals, they take pressure, so if you hook it up to a counter pressure filler you can watch gravity, then batten down the hatches and no need for any priming.
Now I just need to win the lotto.
