Things to do in Cork city? 15 years 1 month ago #1

Hi All,
The wife and I will be in Cork for a few days, so I was wondering if you have any suggestions where we should go for food and/or entertainment.

Obviously I know the pubs to go to and as my wife is expecting, boozing will not be a major pastime, but any restaurant recommendations would be gratefully received.

Places where I can get my net fix via wifi would be nice too.

I should mention, we will be taking public transport, so recommendations for places in the city only please.

Like yourself Séan, I know the pubs better than anything else! I have enjoyed Hardwood for food (beside the Bierhaus) and I quite like Bodega bar for a decent enough meal washed down with a pint of something from the 'Well.

Hi Séan, I believe the Strasbourg Goose is very good for food, they do a 3 course for €20 deal which gets great reviews. I had hoped to visit the last time I was down but I left it too late to book.

Congrats by the way <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

I've always enjoyed the Isaacs Restaurant on Isaac Street- It's opposite the Shelbourne Hotel and in front of Isaacs Hotel, which it is not part of (very important to note as the hotel has a restaurant which is not Isaacs Restaurant).

Otherwise, upstairs in the English Market always has good food.
