In filing cabinets across Scotland I'll wager there are pieces of paper with your name at the top and the word "Smartarse" scrawled across in red biro.

I can only imagine adding an interest in beer would lead to problems because when a couple of people at work discovered I studied brewing they looked at me like I had 3 heads. One refused to even believe you could do a degree in brewing. So, if I found skepticism when I was putting time aside around work to sit exams snd study, let alone the money involved, I can only imgaine that an interest in beer on the CV is likely to be translated into 'Pisshead', (well, in Ireland anyway).

On the radio today I heard that various interviews were done with the public to establish what we consider a 'binge' to be. The medics suggest it is a around 5 units, so aboout 2.5 pints of regular strength beer (or a sniff of Rochefort 10) what figure was most popular with the public? 'Around 10 drinks'. So that's 10 to 20 odd units. What a wonderful relationship this coountry has with alcohol.
