For the former to be true, there can be anything at all in there, heroin, strichnine, saccherine, methanol, petrol and [b:fqsap9tl]as long as there is 1 drop of pure pear juice, then the statement is factually true.[/b:fqsap9tl][/quote:fqsap9tl]
Is that right? I would understand that as meaning that pear juice is the main ingredient. eg. I think cheese is made from milk, but I wouldn't say beer is made from hops. (although I suppose I wouldn't say beer is made from water either, and that is the main ingredient...)

At least semantically, yes it is correct, which is where the confusion lies; you [i:1knhkciu]understand[/i:1knhkciu] it to be telling you that pear is the main ingredient (and nothing else in this case where it is 100%), whereas what it actually says is that "Whatever pear is actually in here is 100% quality pear juice"

Going even further....
From the previously linked website of bulmers pear....

"5. [b:3hbrwlag]What are the ingredients / from what is Bulmers Pear made?[/b:3hbrwlag]
Bulmers Pear is [i:3hbrwlag]made from 100% quality Pear Juice[/i:3hbrwlag]. The Bulmers Pear recipe is a safely guarded secret."

So it's 100% pears then...

then....
"[b:3hbrwlag]6. Does Bulmers Pear have any side effects?[/b:3hbrwlag]
Bulmers Pear [i:3hbrwlag]contains a significant level of high quality, pear juice[/i:3hbrwlag]."
This is ambiguous - significant could mean a large amount of pear juice, or a large proportion of it is pear juice. But I'll let this slide because..

"[b:3hbrwlag]10. Does Bulmers Pear contain any colourings?[/b:3hbrwlag]
Yes, Bulmers Pear contains the colouring agent E150. E150 is a natural caramel colouring, derived from plants."
Oh - so there's some colouring in there too then, so it's not 100% pear juice after all. Sure how could it be, we need yeast there too, even a tiny bit....

But they're still covered with the first statement, cos [i:3hbrwlag]besides all the other stuff[/i:3hbrwlag], the pear juice is 100% high quality.

So the pear juice the use is a 100% quality pear juice, but the don't specify what the over all proportion of the drink is pear juice !

I make no psychological connection between India Pale Ale and Indian food. I simply make the case that hoppy beers go well with curry, not all hoppy beers are IPAs. SNPA or Brooklyn Lager stand up very well to a spicy dish, and crucially you can taste both the curry and the beer, not something that can be said for blondes and weizens in the same scenario.

Technically correct but misleading in that what chicken it does contain is 100% breast, even if the chicken only forms 20% of the ingredients.
