I don't think there is a bricks and mortar shop in Cork, though some health shops sometimes have certain supplies.

Will you be going to Easterfest this weekend? If so introduce yourself to the guys in the Beoir T-Shirts.[/quote:1pjve3x3]

Thanks for all the help re the cider, lads. I'm looking forward to when I get the chance to start making it. Spud, would you recommend putting the tea in when your mixing in all the other ingredients, before adding the yeast?

Taffy, there's a health/natural produce shop up the stairs in Paul Street Shopping Centre in town. They have a small section for homebrew stuff. The supply is fairly limited, though, so you mightn't get exactly what you're looking for. It's also more expensive, as well as limited, than online shops, so you'd probably only be best going there if your buying fairly small quantaties of stuff (eg, a sachet of yeast).

Was this thread just hijacked?
Can the mods split the Cider stuff off to a Cider subforum?

Hi There,

Been lurking on the forum for a few weeks - have been finding it very helpful.

I have been brewing a couple of Cooper’s beers I got with my fermenter kit.

Mexican Cerveza - which I believe I brewed too quickly in the shed with a heating belt.

2 weeks in the fermenter(most of the fermentation was in week 1).
Was going to batch prime with dextrose using an online priming calculator, scales broke. I had coopers carbonation drops; which are measured in 375ml doses. Boiled up 57 carbonation drops and batch primed. Bottled for three weeks now – appley but drinkable.

Second brew is Cooper’s Canadian Blonde on three weeks this Saturday. Too cold in the shed to not use the heating belt, put it on a timer. Have maintained temperature ~18° and density stopped dropping after nearly 2 weeks. Killed the heat on Tuesday to see what temp it drops to - sitting around 12°. Hope to bottle at the weekend. Does not taste appley.

Going to move on to extract with specialty grain brews next. Need to select a brew-kettle. Any advice would be appreciated.
