I had a chat with Richard Fox regarding a food and beer tasting that we'll be hosting for the Irish Brewers Association, and we were putting the final touches on some food and beer pairings. I recomended Blarney Blonde with his request for Fish & Chips, but he tells me he will be bringing his own Blonde.
And yes, before i'm asked, i will be using my homebrew syphon to aquire some of this "blonde" in the name of research.
From homebrew to commercial beer.
You heard it here first.

Neil Morrisey was just on Tom Dunne[/url:2k522tbn]

I'm not sure if you can get a replay on itunes. Tom Dunne did say he wanted to do an Irish version of the show. And was looking for someone to show him how to brew.

That could be good publicity for some young brewer of fine ale. Perhaps one living in the Galway area...?

Episode three last night. They finally got the microbrewery installed, and brewed a bitter for the pub.
Most of the episode was about them getting their beer into a supermarket - finally doing a deal with Tesco.

I'm not sure how much is for TV, and not-withstanding they really believe in what they're doing, but they do come across as pompous and arrogant at times.
I really don't like what they've done with the pub, and it seems the locals agree, and are staying away. As one guy put it, they said they wanted a pub that serves food, but they ended up with a restaurant that serves beer. They have priced the locals out of it, some preferring to travel to the next village for their pint, and it could be a long winter when the novelty wears off.
