Actually I have to say I think Neil Morrissey, the more 'celebrity' of the two is getting a lot of unwarranted flack (not from this site I might add).
I get the feeling that as [i:2wbjdnht]matey [/i:2wbjdnht]as they are deep down they both have different ideas as to what they really want. Morrissey is very much an 'in the pub, having a pint' type, and seems to favour the 'good beer good atmosphere' mantra. When they visited the pub first, while looking for somewhere to lease/buy his eyes lit up. Locals, in a pub; some eating; all drinking, and a very homely atmosphere. The kind of place any of us would love to spend a winter's evening.
Richard Fox, on the other hand was always geared more towards the good food good beer pairing. Much as he hates the term, a gastro pub is what he wanted, and a gastro pub is what they ended up with.
On reading Jim's, amongst others there's a lot of 'that bloody Bob the Builder ruined that pub' kind of talk going on.
I guess the business/series will live or die by his celebrity sword.
