I recently tried Beamish and Murphys (draught canned variety) and thought they were pretty easy to tell apart but once you introduce two more (or 3 more if you count the wet dog) it would become more difficult.

I think the serving team should arrange the drinks collectively and bring them on four marked trays. If the testers agree to make their decisions in silence, the servers should be able to sit there, sip their Ballygowans in peace, and await the switcharound.

Are you sure Hendrixcat or Oblivious couldn't arrange a laboratory in which to conduct this experiment under properly controlled conditions?

One of you HAS to wear a white lab coat at least!

Not much good when a quarter of a ton of liquid helium reaches critical temp in the cyclotron mass spectrometer and blows. But as we say in the lab don't worrier about the blast you ears will be a distance away from what left

An they impend rapid exit from the lab for those not already suffocated.

I did a quick (dry) walk-through of the pub today, and they still have all the beers on tap.

The attendance, based on this thread, is:
a_friend_in_mead
Hendrixcat
Microgirl
Microgirl's friend
Microgirl's friend's friend
sbillings
rossa
Bog_Myrtle
TheBeerNut

That's a statistically significant 9. Anyone else, or anyone dropping out?

I mentioned 6.30 as a start time. Does that not suit anybody? If it's agreed then we can do the first round of tastings once we have about five or six people -- latecomers can join the second (or subsequent, but two should be enough) round.

Remember that O'Neill's is BIG. I'd suggest getting a quiet corner for this, possibly upstairs, which could make the group difficult to find. If anyone attending wants my mobile number, PM me.

And finally, because any time I arrange something in O'Neill's this happens: it's [i:3a66ynf9]Suffolk Street[/i:3a66ynf9] [b:3a66ynf9]not[/b:3a66ynf9] [i:3a66ynf9]Pearse Street[/i:3a66ynf9]. But you knew that.
