It frustrates me a lot that a beer that leaves here at £2.60 a (750ml) bottle is in a bar about 20 miles away being sold at £15 #greedy

No - I'd frown on any attempts at price fixing - while the intention in this case is / may be good, RRPs have been used in the past to keep prices artifically high.

I don't think they should set a price, but perhaps they could give some guidance.

I'd admire a brewer who told a publican to do one if they found their beer was being sold with a similar markup.

Its €4 for a bottle of Irish beer in my local. Even stuff that I could get for €2.50 last year. I'm very suspicious of why these prices have risen so dramatically. €4 is too much for 500ml of the vast majority of Irish beers IMO, for less I can tastier foreign beer. I want to support Irish breweries but its hard in off licences at the current price/quality.

What is really going on with everyone increasing their prices recently? Should we or do we have an official position on it?

Tax increase plus annual price rise on wholesale+markup+VAT
