When visiting pubs, ask if they serve craft beer. They'll probably say "There's no demand for it". Just reply 'I'm demanding it'. the more people who ask for it, the more pubs/off-license may start stocking it

I explained to one publican once about the Squeeky wheel phenomenon.

I said " I'm a fussy cunt , if I'm in a town or Village and I'm with ten lads on a night out , I want to drink craft , the other ten lads can drink piss in any pub , but I'm going to make them go to the one pub that serves craft . That's what makes the pub stand out from the rest "


On the Monopoly situation in Ireland .

Publicans are afraid of losing deals/business relationships they may have with existing reps from the Macros that they have dealt with for years.
Not every publican is in a position to upset those reps , some have gotten into difficulty with reps from macros for buying kegs of the macros beer when they run out of it, because they may have bought it from outside that individual reps area. I do believe there is some public domain evidence relating to this ( Publican in the news recently for selling his spare stock to other pubs who ran out of beer or couldn't get credit etc . )

Now if a supplier is willing to give you grief over buying [i:2ec44znn]his[/i:2ec44znn] product from a different channel , what do you think he'll do if you buy a competing product.

Well I'll be over in Dublin, early August. If I find A pub who doesnt serve craft ale, either on draft or bottle condition, we'll be going somewhere else

The situation is getting a lot better in Dublin I have to say; it's not often that I'll find myself in a pub that doesn't serve at least one or two slightly more interesting choices on tap.
