I agree they'd be in for a shock. I'd be interested to hear what the bar staff have to say about it if people enquire. I suppose SNPA must have been a seller if they are prepared to take on another American style pale ale.

There's no reason why that style of beer shouldn't take off on this side of the Atlantic. It's not a lager though.

Yes but it does have a flavour though,which is an alien concept to those that drink beer cos it makes you drunk, rather than drinking it cos of the pleasant taste.

Stranger things have happened. If beer like that can take off in the States, it can happen anywhere

I hope that Galway Hooker being listed as a lager is a simple error. Otherwise the Porterhouse have overstepped the mark.

It is up to the manufacturer to position and market their product as they see fit. If Hooker Brewery sell their beer as an Irish Pale Ale, the Porterhouse, as a retailer, have no right to reclassify it as a lager, regardless of how sales might be affected by the change in classification.
