I think the Porterhouse has had that late-night surcharge for a while now.

I thought those kind of price hikes during the night were stopped a while back. <!-- s:evil: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt=":evil:" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: -->

We were talking about that, and apparently it is meant to have stopped.
The publican is to provide a price list outside covering all drinks, and a 9 item price list behind the bar. Both of which have to match, and show no changes at any hour.
I will have to look at this more though, thats just what i was told earlier.

Found this, but does'nt say if this is current or not

National Consumer Agency to the rescue[/url:ki58f00n]!

Yes, that SI is current; but no, it doesn't mean you can't have late-night surcharges. You just have to ensure that the price on display is the price being charged at any given time.

I've seen plenty of signs in pubs around the place that have two price columns for the different time brackets, which appears to be perfectly legal.

Yes I was in the PH last Friday (sorry Silenus) and was pleased to see Hooker on tap. On one of the drink menu things it described it as a "Guest Irish [b:3tgbfyf1]Lager[/b:3tgbfyf1]". Well I never. In a way, that sums up the Porterhouse for me, great for beer, but it's run by a pack of morons.

Perhaps we should give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are marketing it as a lager to increase sales. Ale just doesn't cut it in the advertising stakes.
