Buy every pub has a store for their kegs. Granted some are very tight on space. Not a cellar, perhaps, but can't these casks be kept at cellar temp. with those 'blankets'?

I wonder how the Porterhouse handle TSB? Do they use a cask breather or similar to prolong shelf life? I can't imagine all batches of TSB sell out within a couple of days as it's not their most popular beer.

The only cask ale I can think of which is available in Ireland is Porterhouse's TSB. I'm not mad on that beer. Are there any others which I don't know about.[/quote:1kln3lfz]

Well yes, that might be the only regular one. The Franciscan well had a few guest casks (Carlow and Hilden) for their Easter fest, and afaik will have a few more on (their own) for their Oktoberfest

I would imagine they surely use a breather.

I reckon so to. I'm not sure it sells that well judging by the astounded looks that people have on their faces when the bar staff start pulling a pint from it. I asked a dickhead barman in the porterhouse central the other week how the TSB was and he replied,
"It's good for washing dishes".
He [i:1nzagv6s]was[/i:1nzagv6s] Australian though.

I have to admit I'm with him on that one. I think it's a pretty disapointing beer. Maybe it's the NZ hops they use, I'm not sure.
