I think Smithwicks used the name Time at one stage.

In McHughs on the Malahide Rd last week they had a little card with some blurb about it. It said that Time beer was around in the 60s until a competitor bought it and shut it down. Given the Smithwicks links mentioned above I wonder whether Smithwicks was the seller or the buyer?

I wonder why they went with a lager instead of ale considering the connection with Smithwick’s
