Which brewers are using Irish barley malt? 14 years 10 months ago #1

I know that Porterhouse and Cuilan Loughnane both do, but I don't know about anyone else for certain.

Does anyone else know who is/isn't using it?

(Without stating the obvious I'm leaving out Diageo and Heineken/Murphys, both of which use Irish barley malt)

Good Question, I'd be surprised if anyone else is using it - Its a real shame us homebrewers cant buy Irish Malted Barley.

We could do a group buy from the Malting Company of Ireland.[/url:1u4wrywl]

They've no minimum quantity, tho they don't mill or deliver.

Last time I priced from them it was 60c a kilo (which is €15 for 25Kg).

I think Carlow use it. What's the story about buying it from Athy?

Axereal don't answer the phone. And when you do get an answer they seem annoyed that you got through and tell you the person to talk to isn't in the office.
