Default non-craft beer? 18 years 7 months ago #1

Think it's the pubs i've been in recently but just can't seem to settle on a non-craft beer. I may have been spoiled by Goose Island IPA and Galway Hooker and the Porterhouse Stouts but i'm just not feeling the love for any other beers recently <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( --> .
Guinness is always too cold, Smithwicks usually rank from not being sold, pint bottles of guinness or macardles rarer than hens teeth, heinekin i can take a pint or 3 of then hate it, bulmers 1 or 2 of then the heartburn starts up. Usually if it's available a bottle of Budvar/Staropramen will do but when they're not available i tend to hop from beer to beer hoping to find one that will do.
Think the only solution is just to drink in Porterhouse or B&C.
What's your default beer?

I suffer similarly to yourself in regular pubs. Jack and Coke anyone?

I will stoop as low as guinness if there is nothing else more drinkable available. Was in Strandhill at the weekend, they had 330ml bottles of Guinness rather than pint bottles. Except they were in the fridge. I managed to get them to go and get room temp ones for me from the store, fair play to them they did. It also meant that he remembered my order each time too!

I'd always go for Guinness. I think it's nice.

I do opt for Guinness quite a lot. Also Stella if it's available. I find it a bit fuller and more satisfying than the other lagers.

Was out at n1mbus's stags night on Saturday. I started off well in the B&C with some Hookers (wait for the jokes!) and a Blarney Blonde, but when we moved on to another few venues I settled for bottles of Becks on one kip, Bottles of Lech in another place and pints of Stella in the last place. By that time I couldn't taste anything anyway...

The previous week I spent the night on pint bottles of Guinness Extra Stout and McArdles.
