Our local ( Malahide ) Gazette is always looking for well written pieces supported by a great photograph. If you see the Malahide rugby picures in the Gazette then they are mine - just never get credited! In the case of beer release/craft brewery news/whats brewing type articles a good article will be held as a space filler as time is not always the essence of the piece. Most small free and not free local papers are on such tight budgets they cannot afford to get the photographs and so no article!

If we don't write them the smaller papers cannot publish them.

I was delighted to read the article - makes me want to start travelling around a bit more!

Cheers

From experience, regional/local papers are usually only too willing to have "editorials" written for them at no cost. It might be something to consider to promote Irish Craft Beer in the future. And Beoir. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Its a good idea - I know the echo that is sold in tallaght - has a few different catchment areas and the paper is changed slightly depending on the locality it is being sold in (eg i think theres a slightly different edition for clondalkin and another for ballyfermot). Id say if someone did a piece for them, they would have a big catchment audience.

And Helvick Gold was in last issue. They do have a regular beer feature in F&W and from conversations we've had with them they want to promote Irish beers more and more - they pushed to have a craft beer stand at their Christmas Show in the RDS but unfortunately licensing issues messed it up a bit at the last minute.

F&W will also be doing a feature on the Messrs Maguire Brown Ale coming up soon. They seem to be embracing the beer revolution that we're all working so hard to get rolling and I know that I'm doing my best to help them out by recommending them to anyone I can.

I know when I was interviewed Beoir was mentioned quite a few times, both by myself and John, so I have no doubt that the editing is the reason for the smaller mention in the article.

Keep up the good work everyone!
