Heading there this evening. Would never in a million years have thought of heading to that offie, but will be in the area this evening, so the lure of new craft beer has drawn me in
Not tried Howling Gale yet, so lookin forward to it!

Enjoy the beer! Not much else to brag about in the offie mostly lagers in the "craft & foreign beer" section. Its amazing how we have adopted the macrolagers as our own. I have no idea how they wangled the 8 degrees gig

The guy behind the counter seemed a little surprised (in a good way) when I walked up to the counter with some HG and Marstons Burton Bitter. I asked was HG selling well, the guy told me its hard to get people to try something new. He seemed to like it, and fair play to him, he told me not to have it too cold.
Very nice beer, really enjoyed it. Like the fruity hop aroma and a decent but not overpowering bitterness. Another lovely Pale Ale from an Irish micro

Had my first bottle of it yesterday, and was surprised at the bitterness of it?? I had it also at easterfest ( actually told there was a problem with the gas i think so got it free) and I thought it was nicer on tap, honesty..
Anyway I'm still gonna send a bottle over to my brother in law in Florida in a month or so with the next person going over, have to keep him up to date.

That must be Joe. Was he wearing a KK jersey even though he is a Strawb like yerself? I had a bit of a rant in there at lunchtime about pubs serving ales too cold and we had a chat about serving temps and beer in general. He has an interest in beer, used to brew kits, has tried Metalman Pale a few times and went to Grimes for the Helvick on cask, just what you want in your local offie. Unfortunately the owner doesn't have the same interest in beer or it could become a little gem.
I also got a bottle of Marstons and the last bottle of Goliath they had.
Back on topic! My interest is piqued now, I will have to ask how they managed to be the sole Waterford distributor for 8 Degrees.

Had a few bottles of howling gale myself and thought it was pretty bitter. Not a whole lot of flavour or aroma to it either, maybe just too subtle for me being a bit of a hop head . Would like to try it on draught to see whats that like.
