I came across an interesting statistic via some research of Dr Jacoby's.

Can anyone guess what percentage of the Irish beer market is "specialty beer"? This would include (correct me if I'm wrong, tradespeople) all of the imported Belgian, American and British ales we get, and the German lagers, weissbiers etc, plus your Desperados, Salitos and similar. The answer is in terms of money rather than volume of beer.

Any guesses?

Well considering almost every pub in Ireland has the big 4 on tap, and nearly every off licence does something similar I'd guess around the......5% mark?

Happy with that?

I'd guess something around 7% ish, plus or minus 2 or 3. (Think I've covered my basis there).
