We were going to get the Champion Ale in but we were under the impression it had a Tesco's logo stamped somewhere on it...

Wasn't a huge fan of either of the Scots really, although I’d rate the Old Jock much higher. The killing blow for me was I found them a little too light. The Old Jock started out well but just faded away too fast. The taste just didn't linger and left me really having to concentrate to find favours after I swallowed. I never dismiss a drink on one tasting though so I will try this one again in a different, possibly more suited environment.

The Gulden Draak I did enjoy. It has a nice floral nose, if I can remember right (never wrote anything down <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( --> ), with a well balanced alcohol fuelled warmth.
One thing though... This beer is 10.5%. A high alcohol content by any standards but not the highest I’ve tried and defiantly nothing I couldn't handle. Or at least that’s what I thought! I was quite drunk after this one and woke the next morning with a very bad head ache. Funnily enough, I wasn't the only one to feel this way after this particular beer. One of the other lads from work and the Manager all had the same drunken night turn painful morning. Anyone else find this with Gulden Draak?
