a bit disappointed with the bock I have to say, i detected an almond aftertaste which I didn't like - not liking almonds and all that. Quite like the Rogue chocolate stout though.

I picked up the Broughton Old Jock & Excisemans last Thursday at Deveneys in Dundrum. They had a third Broughton ale which I'll have to go back for. I really liked the Old Jock, which I allowed warm up a bit before sampling. Good stuff.

The third was probably the champion double ale, which i preferred to the excisemans 80/. Have yet to try the old jock, next time!

Also got Badgers First Gold from Hall and Woodhouse.
Didn't particularly like this one much, but the Old Jock is nice, quite sweet and malty, fairly hefty 6.7%abv. Having this with some nice cheese like it says on the label, and my finger feels a lot better! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
