in defense of semantics, it is concerned with what sentences mean. that's pretty important when you're having a discussion![/quote:1hzzpjkq]

I'm more vexed by Guinness's [b:dv2y3fru]"traditionally brewed"[/b:dv2y3fru]. But again, I suppose that's just a question of when you start the clock.[/quote:dv2y3fru]

A pedantic friend keeps telling me that "traditionally" means: a practice, the origins of which has been lost in time". I'm sure Guinness's processes can be traced to sometime in the 20th century.

they might mean "traditionally brewed" as opposed to "traditionally bought and rebranded" or "traditionally stolen". It might just be an unnecessary clarification of how guinness came to own all that black liquid

Carbon dioxide was first isolated in 1772 and nitrogran in the same year. Pumping these from a gas canister into a beer when serving it is adding a chemical by pretty much any definition.[/quote:1h3b6a83]
Ah you're just nit picking now
