We're back to the Irish Red argument again I think. Style vs Nationality.
Let the battle begin.

Point taken. I think that's a very broad definition though. I would have thought American Wheat as a style has its own characteristics as do Belgian Wits or German Weissbiers, regardless of where they're brewed. If I bought the Gordon Biersch wheat and expected an American style wheat beer I would be in for a surprise (probably a pleasant one though).

sorry bout that !

Ye it was good alright and they even managed to sell quite a few bottles to people just coming in for a few beers. Have to say i thought the prohibition and the untouchable were excellent.

and on another note totally off topic, as i type my home made 50 litre boiler is going through its paces for the first time, its working and even better it's not leaking! here's hoping it doesnt melt

Thanks for coming down 17 years 6 months ago #18

Hi all,

I'm one of the "American guys" who was pouring the beers from Speakeasy and Gordon Biersch down at Deveney's on Friday. It was great to find so many craft beer fans in Ireland. We hope to bring in a wider selection of beers down the road and knowing that there is a market for new beers is a relief. If you didn't get a chance to make it down to Deveney's last Friday, we'll be pouring those same beers at Galway next weekend. Hope to see you there.
