2 weeks is about right, although it may take longer depending on conditioning temperature. Kit instructions are best being fast tracked to the green bin

cheers n

thats what i kinda expected to hear!
hopefully the instructions are wrong
i used 140gm of DME to prime, they say 83gm max!
(bottle bombs would not go down well with SWMBO!)

The instructions say that because the style is usually very lightly carbonated.
I'll stick my neck out here and say... 140g definitely won't cause bottle Bombs!!

assuming a batch of 23L, 140g of DME would give 1.74 vols of CO2 according to this carbonation calculator[/url:1rfbcr24]
Should be fine for an ale.

Hi guys

What should I wash my bottles with?
Washing up liquid is no no, correct.?

Sorry I know this I googleable but too much mixed opinions out there!
I kinda stuck to go out and get anything, will i use mild fairy or maybe a sanitizer mix or a mild bleach mix? Also have some Vwp that I got with my starter kit

I plan to rinse and sterilise with b/v mix after
It's just for the initial scrub, they are used bottles that were rinsed after use

Cheers

Do whatever it takes to get them visually clean. If you can do that without washing up l liquid, great. If you do use make sure you give a gopd rinse.
The key is to sanitise once theyre visually clean.
I washed mine with mild wu liquid once at the very beginning. A rinse in water does them after that. But always sanitise, I personally use the vinegar/bleach trick for this.
