Thank you, Mr. Partridge

iBrew, best way to tell how your bottle conditioning is progressing is to open one I call it quality control to open one after a week. Usually they're carbonated by then, but I'd leave it a couple of weeks before launching to the public. If there's any left, that is

I have to agree that you can't beat a proper quality control method of opening a bottle and after a week or two

An option is to fill a 500ml plastic bottle with a sample of your beer (e.g. A coke bottle).
Give it a squeeze to expel the air when your screwing the top on - you now have a slightly squashed bottle.
As the brew starts to condition, the CO2 will build pressure and the bottle will return to its normal shape.
A little longer and the bottle will feel hard when you squeeze it. This way you know that your beer is carbonated. Crack it open and enjoy!

great article, thanks

the instructions for my kit say warm place for 2 days and then cool for 14 days, its a muntons smugglers ale kit,
your guide says keep it warm for the two weeks if i'm not mistaken,

what do you reckon? will i keep it about 20c for the duration? why do they suggest the two days only?

many thanks
