Was discussing this with Hendrixcat and Mrs BeerNut on Saturday night. The former reckons quality may have returned to its normal level. I enjoyed the one I had, so I think I missed the dodgy batch.

Yep, the familiar hop crispness had returned on Saturday.

Dave - referring to previous thread on Bar Talk - Unreliable Hooker - no criticism of your great establishment intended. Merely a comment that perhaps it came from one of the barrels that was discussed on that thread. Will certainly have Hooker again as was always most pleased with it upto now and that pint in my humble opinion was average, not great as it had been in the past and no doubt will be in the future. Again thanks for hospitality and bringing us a great choice of beers in Cork.

in reply to the hooker quality id like to add that the hooker you guys had were towards the end of the keg and there wasnst a good flow that evening. the hooker has been in the bierhaus over a year now and we have never recieved one complaint. furthermore i would suspect the quailty issue that is rumoured to exist is more to do with a flow problem. i here at the bierhaus pull one pint from every tap before i open, ( i doubt every bar does so) and even store my exfra kegs at the fran well cold room since we dont have a cold store. as unpaturised beers shelf life is far less the main stream crap. finally anyone ever had the first pint of rebel red o hara at your local i think you know what it tastes like. keep up the good work aidan ronan. two pints on me next time ur in with rebel ger.
