Reading through the brewing fora on the site I've been fascinated by the vocabularly of brewing. For the noobs (and potential noobs like me), it would be great to have a list of terms and their definitions.
Things like: carboy, corny, gravity, hop sparge, spraymalt, etc.
'Cos once I go into Wikipedia I tend to get stuck.

Good idea. The terms can be a bit over-whelming at the start.
Who knew that a Hot Lauter Tun was just a bucket of water?

or liquor did not get you drunk!

Yep, this is something that was in the back of my mind when we kicked this off. It would sit comfortably into the KnowledgeBase section. There's nothing worse for a beginner than loads of bloody jargon (I know this from experience)! So yes, lets do it!

Now, what's the best way to feed into it?

One way would be to spread the load to a degree and start a thread where people can either request a definition, or provide a definition. We can then add this to the glossary (I think it's more a glossary we are looking at rather than a lexicon?) and build it up over time. I know a Wiki will be suggested, but as we already have a framework for publishing this as an item I don't want to start complicating the architecture just for this

Opinions?

As long as you fight bitterly amongst yourselves and it descends into childish name-calling quite quickly, I'll get value out of it.

*checks lexicon*
By God, you're right.

Lexicon does sound more cool though Or [i:3avh1l9k]Codex Cerevisiam[/i:3avh1l9k]?
