My only use of the word [i:126xwzqt]lexicon[/i:126xwzqt] previous to this was in answering the question '[i:126xwzqt]What's your favourite ABC album?[/i:126xwzqt]', which I admit doesn't crop up on a daily basis. So my vote is for lexicon, if only to broaden my vocab a little.

We should also add some pronunciation pointers too... I think brewing has the most amount of irregularly pronounced words that I've ever come across
e.g. Wort, Tun, Geuze. Erm thats all I can think of.

I agree. Most of my research was from books or the web, and a lot of the words are derived from different languages, like German, so people end up with their own interpretation of how a word is pronounced.

Hoegaarden is a classic example. When I learned and used the correct pronounciation, I was 'corrected'.

And Krausen. Supposed to be an umlaut on the a, so is pronounced Kroyzen. One benefit of living with a Germann <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

How is Hoegaarden supposed to be pronounced so? <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
