If you talk to ladies of the "older generation" you may find a mincer, they were used for making marmalade as well and there must be 1000s put away under stair cupboards etc.

I know this post is going to get a few smart comments but make it quick Im off to England for a few pints of real ale this W/E

Far more interesting than beer.....

I'm intrigued by the quantities though. I looked at the website above and there seems to be a minimum purchase of casings of 40yds/metres, with a shelf life of three months. Depending on the size sausage, one would have to eat between 18 and 28 sausages per week, every week! That seems like a lot of sausages....

Is there anywhere one can get smaller quantities of casing? I suppose it's not the most expensive ingredient, but I hate waste.

Could there be Biddy Early sausages in the pipe line? <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

I'm just amazed that this tread has got so many replies without a single willy joke.

Look at all the references to big sausages, meat, stuffing etc...

I guess it's up to me, as usual <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->, to lower the tone.
