[b:2ez0mxhm]How does this work from the publicans point of view?[/b:2ez0mxhm]
They have to submit their promo idea and hope it's good enough to receive a few quid from Bord Bia.
[b:2ez0mxhm]Do they get in farmhouse cheese & ICB?[/b:2ez0mxhm]
You will be buying cheese from Sheridans as they work with Bord Bia on this one. And you will have to have ICB on hand for the weekend in question
[b:2ez0mxhm]Can the publican put their own spin on it?[/b:2ez0mxhm]
That's exactly what they want, there's no set rules as how to promote the Beer & Cheese, provided they are sold as a pair.
[b:2ez0mxhm]ICB with cheesemaker on hand to pair the two?[/b:2ez0mxhm]
Some places will have to have help from someone who knows their stuff.

The aim of this weekend, now in its second year, is to raise awareness of the breadth of Irish farmhouse cheeses and craft beers amongst consumers around the country. To celebrate this national campaign, Bord Bia is inviting cheesemakers, brewers, retailers, restaurateurs, publicans, associations and food groups to hold a series of events and activities that will profile farmhouse cheese and craft beer or cider together.
The Farmhouse Cheese and Craft Beer Weekend is held in an effort to prove that craft beer (not just wine!) is an excellent accompaniment to cheese. There are numerous event possibilities from tastings and pairings to talks and demonstrations. You could take some inspiration from events that took place last year by looking here! This is your chance to create your own event pairing farmhouse cheese and craft beer or cider together.
If you are interested in organizing your own event, we would love to hear from you and to help you run your event. Bord Bia will provide event hosting tips, recipe ideas and PR materials in advance. We have some funding available (unknown as yet)
