Yum, sounds great. Can you let us know which are paired with which? Maybe the surprise would be better?

Oh when is Moonbeam on?

Mount Callan, hard Cow's cheese with Stonewell Medium Cider, Co. Cork

Coolea Hard Cows cheese, West Cork with O'Hara's Irish Red Ale, Carlow Brewing Co.

Clonmore Hard Goats Cheese with Buckleys Golden Ale

Crozier Blue Cheese with Trouble Brewing Dark Arts Porter

Oh when is Moonbeam on? I thought you guys would have milled through the O'Hara's IPA last night so I could put it on. Hopefully tomorrow, no guarantees though[/quote:24tspojv]

Called in this after in company of #1 grandson. Had to show why and where graqndad gets locked once a month (!!!)

Anyways back to the beer/cheese pairings:

The Mount Callan hard cheese with Stonewell cider was a brilliant combination!

as was:

The the Crozier blue with Trouble Brewing Dark Arts Porter.

I really loved the Clonmore Hard goats cheese ( very rare to find a hard waxed matured goats cheese ( in my experience ) and granson thought that this paired with the FXB's Golden Ale was his favourite

The Coolea Hard cows cheese was also superb and paired well with the O'Haras Red

For €6 - 50 you get about a pint of beer, 4 delicious cheeses and biscuits.

This is an [u:y93p40cy]absolute must[/u:y93p40cy] for the beer / cheese affecianadoes amongst us.

Next year I will suggest the "Mega Platter": 4 Pints and about 1/2 lb of cheese and a tube of crackers/oatmeal cookies, some chutneys/mustards/baby tomatoes/raddishes/scallions all for say €25!!

All for one or share with a friend:

"Fabulous for 4
Two much for two
Just for one? "OMG" "

Meanwhile us in Kilkenny had a food pairing with 8 Degrees and tapas hosted by Caroline Hennessy (Scott's wife). The fare was:

1. Bohemian Pilsner with smoked salmon.
2. Ocktoberfest with chicken wings, marinated in Ocktoberfest
3. Sunburnt Irish Red with a venison stew (made with the beer)
4. Beer battered cod sticks, with Howling Gale
5. Chocolate brownies with Knockmedown Porter.

Fue mucho, mucho buenos.
