yeah - Geoffs was just an easy one - figured it might be ok for the first meet - was meaning to drop into downses to check times - pity thats not open

we could be limited in our choices what with the early time & sampling thing
- if all came to all we could always swop some beers & bring em home - that may open up the options a little

I was talking to Mick the manager of Murphys on the quay (handily opposite the bus station) last night. He is open to the idea of hosting the meet-ups subject to the upstairs room being reopened (dunno what the issue is). The only thing is no craft beer I drank the last bottle of Black Rock last night and he doesn't think they will be restocking it.

yeah I was gonna suggest the Hogs alright ! (Murphys ! ) what did he say about the upstairs room ? & bringing in our own samples ?
- pity he won't be restocking the black rock - I guess the lads down there aren't really drinking it then ?

Given that today is Thursday and we don't have anything set up as such yet I guess we won't be meeting up this Saturday - What does Everyone think about just Catching up Saturday week (8th Oct) in some Random Pub? Murphys would be ok with me for the first meet- even if the upstairs room is not open & they don't have any craft beers - couldn't imagine they would be that busy around that time anyway - and if it doesn't suit as a spot - we could always go elsewhere for the next one !!! - just don't want this to be a never ending thread about where to go ! - it's almost like a virtual version of one of those Ciddy Tours that I have been hearing about !!!!
Any thoughts anyone ?

Couldn't say for sure about Saturday week yet.
The venue would not bother me, I dont know Waterford pubs anyway so would leave this up to others.
As for attending with out a sampling, it wouldnt really be something I'd be on for, as it's a big effert for me to get away for a Sat afternoon, I'd like to get the most out of anyone I did get!

Ah yeah - we can push it out to a later Saturday - I don't mind as such - just don't want this to be an eternal lets meet up thread that never happens !!!
- I know what you mean about the sampling thing alright - and making the most of the few free hours !!!
we'll keep banging heads about it - I'm sure we'll find a spot Murphys would be a good one - I guess depending on the upstairs room being available -it's a pokey little bar - Manager Mick is sound but even at that I don't think he would be too into us cracking open our own bottles in the bar itself - some of the other regulars might start running down to the offie for their own cans !!!! - Also As Lugh pointed out there's no craft there

@ Lugh - this might be an an off the Wall suggestion (Don't run screaming !!) What about Flashes Revolutions? not my kind of bar as such but.. he does seem to have a good choice of crafts in there and there are a few back rooms too - (the regular clientele may not be in there at that time ) although i think he may have matches showing in some of them - and he might allow us to bring in one or two of our own samples providing we were also sampling his wares (not a problem for me ) what do you think ?
