[quote:2zmoqyxk]Why rauchbier, of course[/quote:2zmoqyxk]

How do you make this[/url:2zmoqyxk]? How about a weird beer off? Pick an unusual beer type compare a few peoples attempts at it at a meet up?

rauchbier aren't that hard, generally keep the rauchmalt between 30-50% and make the rest up with Vienna and Munich

Hopefully get one of before Christmas

How about a Rauch weizen bock for something a little different

Great night. Poc's Wendy ale was lovely, I liked the grassy hop flavours. Irish Party Ales's Mocha Stout was great as well. It had good coffee chocolate flavour but there was a nice beer to back it up. Some of those flavoured beers taste a bit thin but this one wasn't.

SBillings was asking what yeast I used to make the Bavarian Weisen. The recipe is here[/url:3re9w3af]. The yeast was Safbrew WB 06. I got it from thehomebrewcompany.ie. I wasn't very impressed with this beer when I made it. It was good to see that everyone else thought it was nice

Nice wan, I got one of these too, I found it striking.

I thought it was a great night alright, lots of excellent beer had, Bog Myrtle's Weiss was as good as any I've tried of the style. The South Cider was very good, a kind of sherbet sweetness to it, amusingly presented too.

Note to ICB management: other such nights should be scheduled for nights other than Thursday and Friday specifically to suit me.
