One thing that the awards this year will show, I think, is that it's not enough just to make good beer; you also have to make good beer [i:3bguhkz5]accessible[/i:3bguhkz5]. The end results will probably reflect the importance of spending time distributing the product as much as brewing it. There'll be a bias towards the year-rounders over the seasonals as well, for obvious reasons.

With that in mind, here is a list of the beers which received no preferences at all and are therefore eliminated immediately. The more common each of these beers is, the less it is regarded by conscientious Irish beer drinkers:

Yes, I think Belfast Blonde and Weaver's Gold are both exemplary beers and are wonderful thin-wedge-ends for drinkers of fizzy yellow piss. They deserve a much bigger take-up by the fizzy yellow piss retailers.
