I've been thinking about beers for my Top 10 List and I remember a seasonal beer being available in the Bull & Castle that was I think brewed by the same person that brews for Messrs Maguire. I can't remember the name but it was about 6.5 - 7% and dark in colour. any ideas what it was called? I don't think its in the list already.

Not much to go on I know <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

Raging Bull, aka MM Jul-Ol? I don't think it was still on sale at April 1st 2008, which puts it outside the terms of the awards. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

Thats the one! good memory. I'm not sure what date it was available either, but I did enjoy it.

You're right, it was prior to the start date for this year's awards - a pity as it would definitely have ranked in my top three. Bring it back!

I will have to do most of this from memory unfortunately. The only beers I can get are the special export guiness and draft guinness. Living in Holland limits your access to Irish beer.

Is murphy's red not eligible?

If anyone can tell me that it is brewed in Ireland, let me know. But as far as I can see it's only made in the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland.
