[quote:2p9e5dtu]Does anyone actually do lagers? I don't have temperature control so I'm out[/quote:2p9e5dtu]

Well Couldent say I acualy [i:2p9e5dtu]"do Lager"[/i:2p9e5dtu] I made an Extract lager in a cold snap last winter and despite my own reservations about it the few bottles I have left are now very drinkable (unfortunately most were handed out to yellow piss drinkers who turned up their noses at my Ale!)

Anyway I have a fridge that will take my fermentation buckets. I just left the thermometer in at the warmest setting for 1/2 hour --7C Would that do for Lagering?. If any All grain brewers want to make the long trip west I would be delighted to do a duel brew with them.

You want to lager at as close to 0C as possible, but the primary fermentation needs to be at 10C-12C.

secondry?

[quote:3aerhqro]primary fermentation needs to be at 10C-12C[/quote:3aerhqro] that would be what the cold snap berw was made at. It was then bottled and left at about 8-10 in the loft space.

10C-12C would be hard to get this time of year <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: --> 0c no problem in the fridge

Yes. Lagering is, essentially, an extended secondary at very low temperatures.

I won't know if I can make this until closer to the time. Does anyone other than SAS fly to Copenhagen? I'm not anti SAS but I do like Ryanair style prices.

For timetable reasons I'm going out with SAS and back on Aer Fungus. The Ryanair option is through Malmö, which is probably quite convenient, despite being in a different country
