was in here on friday night with the Missus - we were a bit late for food (so we went out to eddie rockets between pints).
I had the bay ale - after buying it, and before tasting it, i read the table advert saying there were fruit additions which kinda put me off - but in the end i thought it was really nice.

The staff need to be sent back to charm school...could have at least smiled - I was afraid to order a drink. Must have been a long day.

The only problem I've had with Against the Grain is leaving the place. I go in with the best intentions of having one or two, and then 4 or 5 later I decide to stay for 7 or 8...

I no longer go to Against the Grain on a school night because of this.

The atmosphere is genial, the selection is good enough that I can have a different beer every round, or select something and stay on it all night.

And currently their Sierra Nevada tap is pouring the Sierra Nevada Winter Warmer (a spiced brown ale, I believe), or at lesat it was last time I was in.

Interestingly, the Sierra Nevada beer (Tumbler) is €1 cheaper in Against the Grain than the Bull & Castle. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> They kept it at the same price as the normal Pale Ale on tap.

Actually their autumn seasonal going forward, replacing Anniversary IPA.

I was in there last thursday night, very reasonable prices and great selection. We did serious damage to the Blue Moon - even if the tap was pouring so slow you could drink it coming out !
Unfortunately the Trouble tap was giving ... bother - so 'or' wasn't available. Great selection - Its near my work - so I'm a happy camper. Great Job - now any chance of one of these in Malahide !

Was in there last night for a few beers and food before a gig and had a Trouble Ór, but the tap seemed to giving problems. It was mainly foam, and the girl pulling the pint had about 4 pint glasses full of foam beside the tap. Didn't bother going for a second pint of Ór as it seemed like too much hassle for the girl. Pity, cos I'm a huge fan of Ór. Had a pint of O'Hara's and the rather gorgeous Sierra Nevada Tumbler.

Not mad about the decor, it looks too "thrown together" and bit like a converted school hall. But that said, a great choice of beers, lovely food, and nice staff. Nice to have the choice further away from the centre of town.
