Three Tun Tavern (Weatherspoons) watery Casks? 11 years 8 months ago #1

Are the casks in the three tun tavern watered down??
I certainly think so I've tried all 3 and they seem very watery, lacking flavor...also the head dissipates really quickly.... Its probably not that noticeable if you don't drink cask often, or you just had a 1 off.
To all you cask drinkers who've been to the three tun, do you agree if their watered down somehow?

What beers in particular... doubt wetherspoon would be involved in such dubious (and illegal) practices.

I doubted it myself and have tried great casks in weatherspoons in the UK..maybe things are dif here..Adams broadside, ghostship and wychwood hobgoblin all tasted subdued and watery <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

They were all tasting great the night I was there- However, that was the opening night so I'm sure they made sure everything was in top form.

Hobgoblin on cask is a few ABV points lower than the bottles. There's no way they'd be watering them down themselves though, they care about cask beer too much.

possibly got the first part out of the lines after line cleaning and there was still rinsing water in there. If in doubt, take it back and they should swap it no bother. Had you eaten anything strongly flavoured beforehand?
