I've only had a half of Ghost Ship from their cask range, but it tasted heavier than the bottled version. Definitely no cause to think it was doctored.

i have to agree with the original post here guys. To me and i have been drinking cask and ales for many years seem watered down. There is no taste from their cask its just like drinking a pint of water. Broadside and Ghostship on tap and bottle are completely different drinks we all know this. Cask ale is a little lower on percentage on cask but spoons cask has very little character to me. Their cask dont retain any significant quality from the original ale. Go and taste one for yourself and hold the glass to the side in the light and look at the water rise and see how clear the glass is at the top on the pint. Cask in Mulligans is still the best in my own opinion.

I agree with Beernut, there's something 'suspicious' about this discussion.

Surely they wouldn't get the Cask Marque approval if this was the case as well?

In the interest of my fellow consumers I will personally inspect the quality of the pints in my local spoons this evening. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

ok nothing suspicious here i am a fully paid beoir member. i should have said the hue of the ale is more see through and is more evident when held against the light. Its just my opinion here but if you want to doubt me go try one of their ales. I thought this was an open and honest forum to discuss anything real ale related in bars. I have nothing but great experiences from Wetherspoons in the UK.
