irish_goat Offline Posts: 1553	Yep, Metalman have been toying around with 5 litre kegs. They'll be just like the Heineken ones i.e. draught beer and best of all, they'll have a 28 day shelf life after opening. I've asked them to let me know as soon as they're ready.

As far as the US, a lot of small breweries (especially the nano- ones) don't distribute widely - pubs and restaurants within 10 miles and that's it. For the larger ones, there's always some seasonal or limited release on tap at the source. I've never found a brewery visit to be a wasted trip.

Most get around the limited staff by only taking visitors on Saturdays.

And put me down for a Metalman minikeg.

kev2403 Offline Posts: 872	Their would be a huge saving to the brewery which could be passed directly to the consumer. It could easily be managed, walk ins could be scheduled for a certain evening each week. By selling in mini kegs, the packaging costs would be much lower also. It may be a headache tax wise tho,
