75p in 1986 is £1.90 in 2012 money and £1.10 in 1994 money. Beer pricing has certainly outstripped inflation.

You're not really comparing like with like, though. I'm fairly sure you can get a pint for under £1.90 in non-London Wetherspoons. And that's not allowing for excise duty rises.
