Fussen is lovely, but small as you say and quite. I worked there many moons ago while on summer holidays from college. Last time I was there was about 6 years ago. The area is lovely though, great place to rent bikes and cycle to nearby villages, lovely swimming lakes, lots of health spas and the like.......all very healthy!!

he was always telling me stories about the October fest... always!!!

Mon: Bamberg
Tue: Berlin

So far I've a meal in the Schneider Weisse Brauhaus booked and an email fired off to Paulaner about a tour. The other Munich breweries don't seem to give a lot of info on tours(apart from Schneider and Erdinger but they are too far away).

Welcoming suggestions for other stuff to do that haven't already been mentioned.

A day in Bamberg is quite short IMO. I spend a week there last year and easily found stuff to do every day.
Actually looking to head back there some how this year, maybe for Sandkerwa festival.
