We're no strangers to it on Boeir, but I came across this article only today. It makes some strange claims, and I have to wonder about the veracity of it, considering the accuracy of the first sentence of the third paragraph.

Are Irish Unionists any less Irish than anyone else?

I mentioned the Protestant-only management till the early 1970's to my father in law and his reply was that was the way business was done in a lot of companies at the time, including a lot of the banks. Doesn't make it right, but it wasn't a Guinness phenomenon.

On a fact finding note, is the 500 brewery workers accurate?

Does anyone know how many brewery employee's Guinness have in Ireland?

The piece is from 2003 so that number probably has reduced (if it was accurate originally).

It's highly inaccurate, which is why it annoyed me in the first place. There's bashing and then there's making shit up!

Park Royal brewery is now closed, so so much the majority of Guinness workers being in England!

Additionally "management is still considering moving the brewing operation to a location just outside of Dublin." That's Leixlip, which in the third paragraph of the same article is in Dublin, FFS!
