"Brewery Hops" -- tours of the micros 13 years 11 months ago #1

I just spotted this in the latest issue of [i:2yh4mt5h]What's Brewing[/i:2yh4mt5h]:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.breweryhopsofireland.com/">www.breweryhopsofireland.com/

Looks interesting, clearly aimed at the UK market, and the web site is nicely done too.

Not a bad way to spend a week off.

Looks cool.

On a similar note, should Discover Ireland not be making more of an effort to promote craft beer? Dunno about the rest of you'se but if I'm travelling anywhere one of the first things I do is check out the city/region/country tourism site and have a look for brewery tours, beer pubs etc.

Have a few ideas on how we can help I'll post up when I'm back from Poland anyway.

Very few of the micros do organised tours. I'm struggling to think of anyone other than O'Hara's that does.

On a related note the Guinness Storehouse is apparently the #1 tourist attraction in the country. I haven't been on the tour myself, so I can't comment.

It's very good in fairness. The advertising level is particularly good and I imagine the novelty of pouring your own pint is pretty good if you've never done it before. Plus the gravity bar has a nice view.

The Franciscan Well do tours
The burren Brewery do too
Tigh Bhric will give you a tour , but it won't last very long ..
I think eight degrees , Dungarvan and white gypsy will all arrange tours too .
