A lot of them will oblige and do adhoc tours alright, but I think Carlow are the only ones doing organised tours, i.e. you pay in, get a high viz jacket, sign the disclaimer, and off you go.

Actually, I think Hilden do them aswll.

The F Well also do organised tours where you have to book and pay a fee, and get a tray of samples as part of the price.

Hi, my name is Mia Tobin and I am the owner of Brewery Hops of Ireland. I just noticed this thread discussing the tours and wanted to say thanks for the positive feedback. I am flat out at the moment preparing for the first tour running next week. I am running a slightly shorter 4 day tour from Mon 13 – Thurs 16 August and am very privileged to have acclaimed beer writer, Roger Protz on board. Roger is working on a successor to his best selling “300 Beers to Try Before You Die” entitled, “300 More Beers to Try Before You Die” and hopes to be able to include some of the Irish beers he will sample on tour in this new book. Although I have been marketing the tours mostly in the UK they are of course open to all and I would love to have an Irish beer enthusiast contingent on the August tour with Roger in a bid to get as many of the Irish micro brews into the book for international recognition. As I'm working on publicity mostly this year, I'm offering Beoir members (and friends) a significant discount for this August tour, it will be 350 euro for the 4 day tour to include transport, bed & breakfast accomodation, tours & tastings in 7 micro breweries in the Southwest, these are O Hara's, Dungarvan Brewing Company, Eight Degrees, Franciscan Well, Dingle Brewing Company, Tig Bhric & White Gypsy. I could think of worse things to do with 350 notes.

This sounds great, an opportunity to visit the makers of some of my favourite beers and in the company of Roger Protz! I am interested and will try to rally up a couple of pals, how many places are available on the tour?

Great to hear you may have a few people interested in coming along. The tours are designed for small groups so no more than 16 people. There is still availability for August at the moment but as it's busy tourist season I will need to know numbers in the next week or 2 in order to get the accomodation booked.
