I think that's a good point. Having good beer in Tesco will expand the craft segment and public awareness of decent beer. Craft beer is widely available in UK supermarkets and the overall craft beer market is a lot healthier than it is here.

I am not sure that this is how it works. A guy or gal walks into Tesco with a tenner intending on buying a slab of whatever is on offer that week and says wait! I could have 5 bottles of those for the same money.
I am basing this on the fact that even though the Tesco I went to yesterday didn't have a huge range there wasn't one bottle missing from the shelf but the shelf with the slab offers was empty apart from one case which had been torn.
Maybe I just work near a crap Tesco?
