Beoir App... 15 years 1 month ago #1

All things going well, my first iPhone App will hit the App Store next week (it's actually the second App I've written but that client is really dragging their heels over releasing theirs).

So, I was thinking about producing a Beoir App. My basic idea is to have a 'Brew Finder' which will locate bars which are serving craft beers, a "Who's Who of Brew" which will give bios of all the Irish Craft Breweries and a comprehensive 'About Us' which will give information about Beoir and its aims. Any other ideas would be welcome.

It would be aimed to go live on the iPhone, which an Android variant following quite rapidly after and a WinMoFo7 version as soon as SP2 of that OS gets released.

First of all, cool

One suggestion, how about a recipe finder for homebrewers?

That sounds great Andrew. The breweries would be the easy part, as that changes slowly. The Beoir Directory is constantly growing with venues selling Irish craft beer (and more people should be adding to this!). It could be a start point to help you, but (and I hope ) a snapshot in time could get quickly out of date as it continues to grow

That's the idea I had for an Irish Craft Brewers app- However I will need a lot of help from the Beoir members to get this right.

Which, Barry, is why I'll need access to your database. On the plus side if the data was being actively edited by users, it could be used to keep the directory here up-to-date.
