Or an API/XML Feed?[/quote:2i6mtcbi]

Well, that's what I've done on the other 2 projects- Taken the MySQL databases and converted them to a nice XML feed. However I think I might need to add to the directory database first as I will need location coordinates in order to display the bars on a map.

I really like this idea. I could see it being a very useful app. One issue though, as soon as you produce an iphone app, android users (like myself) are going to start asking when their app will be along.

I'm just getting up to speed with Android dev at the moment but it's a lot easier than iPhone dev as it uses industry standard Java rather than the redheaded stepchild called Objective-C that Apple forces coders to use.

But don't worry- as an Android phone owner myself, I've got a vested interest in getting a version up and running quite quickly...

Then I feel that it is right and proper for you to do the Android app first, and leave the fanbois out in the poor misguided wasteland that they inhabit.

Coords are already in the Beoir database, as it uses Google Maps to first locate the place by address, or coords. Having said that, I'm looking at the database and can't find simple coords fields <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> We're using the Sobi2 Directory component. Bit rough around the edges, and I'm half afraid to do an update <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Can I take a look under the bonnet? It could be using GEOMETRY_DB components.
