I was at the launch of the history of Brewing and Baking in Dungarvan in the Museum the other night - a very interesting display.
It focuses in particular on the work of Thomas Power. He bought the former St. Brigid's Well brewery around the start of the 20th Century, from Lord Waterford, and also started producing cider. AFAIK the brewery never brewed their own beer, but bottled Guinness. On this[/url:32ylws7r] 25" map that Barry linked to earlier you can see the brewery. He also bought the land behind it, including the well. The site marked 'Bottling Stores', and the buildings to the right are where the cider was produced. Orchards were planted on this site, and the land behind.
As well as bottling Guinness the brewery bottled spirits and various carbonated soft drinks. He also started a bakery, made jam, ran a pub, and probably a list of other things that I'm forgetting.
