Lads, ye're opinion's needed; meeting Dad this evening, he wants to go for "beer and snacks" rather than real food, and I'm dithering between B&B and Porterhouse. Neither of them are great on the "snacks" front though, iirc, being more big meals type pubs. Anyone know if Porterhouse Central does that pint-and-a-slice thing that Porterhouse North does? Or can anyone suggest any other decent pubs for decent beer and snack-level food?

Hi there, I had a while ago a tasty lamb burger in Porterhouse (Temple Bar). Does that qualify as a snack? One´s man meal is another´s man snack... <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

Porterhouse's nibbles are quite good. They do nice hummus and bread.

The Port House, 64a South William Street, is a delicious little tapas joint. Great food in small portions and you order them at your own pace. I especially like the spicy fried potatoe dish. Wash it down with Port, the house speciality, or try one of three Spainish microbrews.

Thoroughly recommended....

It's a nice place. I didn't know they did beer. What beer do they do?

Wobbler, I don't recall the brand of beer but it is from a Spainish microbrewery, and not one of the bigger operations. It might be from Zaragozza but that's just a wild stab in the dark.
